Position Title: Domestic Violence Outreach Coordinator
Function: Provide Spanish to English translation as Domestic Violence case manager and cultural liaison to advocate, educate and provide transportation for migrant farm worker Domestic Violence victims to DSS, legal aid and court appointments as well as provide intervention and awareness training for students and law enforcement personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Provides direct Domestic Violence services for migrant farm worker residential and non-residential clients including but not limited to: Crisis intervention, support groups, transportation, advocacy, court accompaniment, shelter intake/discharge, safety planning and follow-up.
B. Provides information about YWCA Domestic Violence services to migrant farm worker population in Genesee County.
C. Initiate and maintain Domestic Violence Task Force to partner with local agencies in collaborative services for the migrant farm worker population.
D. Focus to improve community awareness of issues surrounding Domestic Violence and the services of the Domestic Violence program for migrant farm worker population.
E. Facilitate presentations in the local school districts to secondary school students, providing early intervention in an effort to end the cycle of Domestic Violence.
F. Provide training to law enforcement personnel about the dynamics of Domestic Violence victims/survivors/witnesses.
G. Represent the YWCA at trainings, community functions, and meetings.
H. Facilitate education and support groups for migrant farm worker survivors of Domestic Violence.
I. Required to be on-call for the Domestic Violence Hotline some evening and weekend hours.
J. Maintain confidential case-notes and records, and assists with reports and statistical documentation.
K. Performs other duties as assigned by the Domestic Violence Director or Executive Director.

A. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field required; plus two years of experience that may include volunteer and/or internships in Domestic Violence, Case Management or related field.
B. Must be Bi-lingual – fluent in Spanish language
C. Must possess a reliable vehicle.
Must have a New York State Driver’s License and valid insurance and self-transport to program locations, court proceedings and meetings.
D. Must have excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
E. Must be able to self-initiate and work as part of a team.
F. Must have knowledge of the dynamics of Domestic Violence
