Highway Construction Laborer/Equipment Operator in Oaks Corners, NY

Salary Range: $30.24-47.46

We are a union-based Highway Specialty Contractor providing excellent wages and benefits. We specialize in the installation of highway guide railing, bridge railing, traffic signs, and overhead sign structures.
We are currently seeking candidates to fill the positions of Laborers/Equipment Operators for our New York Construction division. Union scale prevailing wage.

Highway Construction Laborer/Equipment Operator duties include, but are not limited to:
· Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
· Loading and unloading materials on trucks and safely transporting to/from job site
· Working alongside and at the direction of others to complete quality installations
· Handling materials that weigh in excess of 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day

Successful candidates MUST possess the following:
· Be motivated and have a positive attitude
· Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
· Post pounders, Crane’s, Heavy Equipment
· Availability to travel overnight 100% (Monday – Friday) from April 1 to December 24
· Ability to handle materials in excess of 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
· Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (in-house training available)
· Ability to work in a fast paced, team driven environment
· Willingness to learn and take direction
· Availability to work overtime and some weekends
· Willingness to join a union

Preferred skills and experience but not required:
· Experience in highway construction industry
· CDL Class A or B driver’s license
· Some working construction knowledge i.e. read and use a tape measure, operate hand and small power tools

· Travel to/from job provided from Elderlee facility in Oaks Corners (Geneva), NY

Schedule:
· Monday – Friday
· Some Saturdays
· Some night work
