Salary Range: $27 - $35 per hour
Machine shop in Rochester NY is looking for an experienced machinist for their milling department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Read Blueprints - Use prints to set up machine for production.
Set Up Boring Mills - Set up job according to specifications or work order.
Operate Boring Mills
Follow prints and directions to produce required quantity of parts.
Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
Responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance and keeping work area in neat condition.
Deburr - Use various tools such as hand grinders, files, roto-burrs and sand cloth to remove burrs from parts.
Inspections of Parts - Check parts produced to inspection criteria.
Move Parts
Move raw material to machine area for finishing using pallet jack.
Load part to machine by hand or by using crane for parts too heavy to lift by hand.
Move finished parts to skids or 4” x 4” wood pallets by crane.
Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience with CNC boring mills

Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated, including inspection equipment.
Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to keep record of time spent and material used.
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and gages.
Ability to read drawings and blueprints and be familiar with common machine tools.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
