Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to review all clinical processes and procedures, serve as a clinical resource for the facility. Covers for Director of Nursing time off.
Utilizing the principles of primary nursing of the facility, delegates responsibility to nursing personnel for direct nursing care of residents during each tour of duty on the basis of staff qualifications and characteristics of resident load and the emotional, psycho-social, nursing and safety needs of the resident.
Resource for electronic clinical documentation implementation.
Assists with admissions and discharges; assisting with assessment of resident needs upon admission or wherever changes in conditions occur.
Assists with coaching, counseling and disciplinary process.
Assist with resident education as needed, including teaching clinical skills to nursing staff and mentoring new graduates
Prepares and updates nursing care information in communications to staff and ensures appropriate disciplines are contributing to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan in a timely manner.
Assess condition of resident.
Assess residents on an on-going basis to determine status, progress, and the need for modified services related to the individual patient and assures implementation of the same in conjunction with the primary nurse.
Notifies or ensures notification of physicians of clinical data, rounds with physicians regularly, takes phone orders and institutes physician’s orders on a timely basis.

Current /valid license as a professional Registered nurse in N.Y.S. AAS in nursing required, BSN preferred. Medicare regulation proficient. Three (3) years’ experience in the planning and/or administration of health services
Complete CMS infection prevention certification within 12 months.
