Summary: Performs repetitive line assembly operations of various materials to mass-produce semi-finished and finished jewelry products or subassemblies. Position is responsible for loading carbon boards with parts and applying solder paste. Solder is applied manually and by robotic machines, which you would learn to operate.
Essential Job Functions:
1)Assemble parts by twisting or otherwise fastening parts together using glue or wire.
2)Performs fastening, twisting, bending, force fitting, or light metal cutting operation.
3)Hand former; bends and straightens metal, structural shapes, and weldments to angels, curves, or flanges as specified on instructions.
4)Hand place parts on soldering boards, walk boards downstairs to Oven room and place boards on conveyor oven.
5)Operates hand powered machines.
6)Works at different work stations as production needs require.
7)Light cleanup of work station is required at end of work day.
8)Maintains a high level of safety standards within their department.
9)Employee is responsible and accountable for the security of any precious metals and inventory that may be assigned to him/her.
Education and/or experience: Certificate from an accredited Jeweler’s school or a minimum of one year applicable experience is helpful but not required.
Language Skills: Working knowledge of the English language.
Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondences, Ability to write simple correspondences, Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and other departments.
Computer Skills: Computer skills are not needed.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical equations at the High School level; Ability to perform mathematical equations using metric weight measurements
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Attendance: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week is required to successfully complete the workload for this position.
