Geva Theatre, a LORT B regional theatre in the heart of Rochester, NY with an annual operating budget of $8.5 million, seeks an experienced and collaborative arts educator and/or arts administrator to join its senior leadership team as Director of Connectivity, leading the company’s Education, Engagement and Access programs which engage, enrich, and expand access to transformational theatre experiences throughout the Greater Rochester communities. This role will bring a mission-driven and culturally expansive approach to building connectivity around the work Geva does, both onstage and off, through key partnerships and programs including Geva’s annual Summer Academy, multiple organizational partnerships, and Student Matinee series. Professional theatre-makers are also encouraged to apply, with the possibility to participate as an artist at Geva as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to Geva’s Artistic Director, the Director of Connectivity will lead the company’s Education, Engagement and Accessibility programming, balancing the mission, vision, values, financial needs and strategic goals of the organization. Direct reports include the Summer Academy Manager (seasonal), the Education Assistant (F/T), the Engagement Assistant (P/T) and additional contracted positions including the Accessibility Consultant and Artist-Educators.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Oversee Geva’s annual Summer Academy, the pre-eminent conservatory style summer training program in the region, and Geva’s school break camps
• Oversee the company’s Student Matinee Series, working with schools, teachers and the city, meeting the city’s requirements for the free admission funded by the city while also meeting sales goals for the paid student matinee groups
• Lead Geva’s Engagement Programs, including Mondays at Geva (3-4 events throughout the season connecting Geva productions with local arts partners) and ROC Geva Pass with the city
• Nurture and Expand Geva’s partnerships within Rochester’s multiple communities
• Partner with SUNY Brockport on the Geva/SUNY Brockport Alliance, which provides courses and masterclasses for theatre students at SUNY Brockport, internships for Brockport students at Geva, etc
• Participate as a member of the company’s senior leadership team
• Join Geva’s Curation Team, also composed of the Artistic Director, Resident Director/Associate Producer, Literary Manager/Artistic Associate, and Artists in Residence, who work on curating Geva’s programming
• Manage the department finances and budgeting, working with the Executive Director, General Manager, and Controller as well as Artistic Director
• Manage Geva’s annual Essie Calhoun Diversity in the Arts Awards
• Oversee Geva’s Accessibility Programs, including ASL interpreted, captioned and audio-described performances
• Convene and facilitate the Engagement and Education Committees

• Have leadership experience in arts education and/or engagement
• Be a collaborative relationship-builder and passionate advocate for arts education and engagement
• Bring creative thinking and an entrepreneurial approach to programming in a fiscally responsible manner in alignment with Geva’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan
• Demonstrate strong management experience with a clear commitment to a collaborative and respectful approach
• Have strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities, while responsibly managing the departmental budget
• A passion for theatre that embraces the art form’s spirit of collaboration
• Exhibit empathy, kindness, diplomacy, and humor in the workplace
• Experience as a theatre artist welcome, with opportunities to participate as an artist as appropriate
