Electrical Engineer with a Concentration in Controls
SUMMARY
Koike Aronson is a world leader in the field of oxy-fuel, plasma, laser cutting systems, welding and positioning equipment and supplies well-known companies in shipbuilding, steel construction, vehicle construction, and manufacturing whom rely on our 100 years of experience. In support of our ever-expanding business, Koike Aronson is seeking a highly qualified Electrical/Control Engineer with a background in design, documentation, and implementation of electromechanical and software control systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
A driven, detail-oriented approach to tasks and a passion for engineering systems and machine design.
A Bachelors or Masters Degree in an Electrical/Control Engineering Discipline and real-world experience in machine control software.

Design and support experience for electrical control systems:
Creation of concepts, specifications, and documentation for control systems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage projects; project goals, known constraints, cost goals and due dates
Design (hardware and software) of machine control systems including servo and CNC, or other motion control equipment Commissioning of complex systems at customer facilities
Training of production and field service personnel
Effective communication skills with members of interdisciplinary teams
Design and support experience for software control systems:
Experience in programming on one or more of the following PLC platforms: Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, and Siemens. Candidate should have experience programming with ladder logic and structured text.
Experience creating effective and intuitive HMIs and linking them to the underlying control software systems.

Experience programming motion control systems and an understanding of the various network interfaces for communicating with such systems. This experience should include the testing and tuning of such control systems and thorough understanding of how system control parameters affect mechanical response and motion profiles.
A thorough knowledge of PLC hardware and its integration with other control system components and the interactions between them that ensure successful machine and process control; Digital and analog I/O, communication interfaces.
The ability and drive to create impeccably debugged and documented code including support and troubleshooting routines and tools.

Experience in control system testing. Candidate should be skilled in design of experiments and methodical data acquisition. Candidate should have experience using these skills to demonstrate system performance in all normal operating modes as well as during exception handling.

A thorough understanding of mechanical systems and the interactions between them and control systems. Candidate must have a strong understanding of the interfaces between electrical and mechanical systems and the physical design elements that ensure a proper top-level electromechanical assembly; footprint, harnessing, chassis design, etc..

Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508a, and other design codes related to industrial equipment and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure compliant designs.
Familiarity with design and documentation packages including:
AutoCAD Electrical and a supporting PDM system
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Adobe Acrobat
