The Duke Company has immediate job openings and is hiring experienced Techs (Equipment Technician / Mechanics).
Equipment Technician will perform a variety of activities to include the servicing, maintenance and repair of The Duke Companies Aerial, Heavy Construction equipment and Light Construction Fleet.
Preferred Education and Experience
-A high-school diploma or Grade Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required for this job
-3 years of verifiable experience as a Equipment Mechanic. (Construction Rental Equipment Experience preferred)
-Valid Clean Drivers License
-Knowledge of safe operation of Construction Equipment
-Reasonable written and verbal communication skills.
-Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and materials used in the servicing and repair of rental equipment. Uphold safety policies and procedures established by The Duke Company.
-Strong Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
-Diagnoses and repairs computer controlled systems, electrical systems, gasoline and Diesel powered engines.
-Inspect, repair and restore rental equipment to correct working order.
-Exhibit positive and effective interaction with customers, fellow employees, Management and Equipment manufacturers.
-Maintain accurate records as it relates to repair orders, parts ordering, and time keeping.
-Must be both efficient and thorough with all repairs and rental check-in.
-Maintain a clean work area and keep tools in proper working condition.
-Maintain and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed by management.
-Complete and submit all paperwork required by shop management in the requested timeframes.
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently work indoors, but will also be exposed to a variety of extreme outdoor conditions both the Company’s facilities. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
-This job requires significant climbing, twisting, turning, pushing and pulling motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
-This is a full-time position primarily Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a rotating Saturday morning from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Days and hours of work could adjust depending on the Company’s needs.
-Travel will occur on a limited basis, primarily to other Company locations. Overnight accommodations, if necessary, will be at the expense of the Company.
