Job SummaryWe are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Head Chef to lead a team in a breakfast/lunch spot in downtown Rochester.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu creation and food preparation to staff supervision and quality control.
Your leadership will ensure that every dish served reflects excellence, creativity, and consistency, delighting our guests and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional eager to inspire a team and set new standards in a upbeat Diner atmosphere.
Our new restaurant has flexible hours. We will be open 7 days a week from 7am - 2pm
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of innovative menus that showcase culinary excellence while aligning with brand standards and guest preferences.
Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth shift management, efficient food production, and timely service delivery.
Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction to optimize food costs and maintain freshness.
Oversee food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and compliance with health regulations to guarantee a safe dining environment.
Mentor and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with precision in food presentation, portion control, and service standards.
Collaborate with management on menu planning, pricing strategies, and new culinary initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction.
Requirements
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in breakfast, lunch and restaurant management.
Proven supervising experience leading diverse kitchen teams in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrated expertise in food production, food handling, and kitchen management best practices.
Knowledge of dietary department standards and experience managing dietary restrictions or special menus.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and resolve conflicts efficiently.
Familiarity with inventory management systems, food safety regulations, and food service operations.
Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines with a focus on presentation quality and flavor balance.
Experience in banquet settings or large-scale catering is highly desirable.
