Salary Range: 23.00- 24.00
Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, andproduction machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
-Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
-Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
-Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
-Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
-Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
-Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
-Starts devices to test their performance.
-Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
-Sets, dies/tooling/fixtures in machines for production parts.
-Initiates requisition requests for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment.
-Repairs dies and fixtures, minor plumbing, heating, electrical and hydraulic repairs. Building and structural needs.
-Provides instruction to operators on safe and proper operation of equipment set up.
-Maintains daily records such as preventative maintenance and repair services performed and daily timesheets.

Education and/or Experience: Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year certification from college or technical school would be beneficial. Blue print reading for fabrication of parts, electrical experience including 440 volt & 3 phase, read electrical schematics, hydraulic experience, welding experience for repairs and set up, and mechanical experience working on machines.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certification in Tack Welding required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Personal Protective Equipment: Metatarsal and steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, leather or rubber gloves, hard hat where required. Additional equipment where conditions warrant.
