Status: Nonexempt, Full Time, on-site

Compensation: $22.60-26.44 an hour, plus benefits

Geva Theatre, a LORT B regional theatre in the heart of Rochester, New York, is seeking a Sales Manager to join its Marketing team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring, cultivating, and retaining group sales, subscription sales, and facilities rentals to achieve budgeted revenue objectives. This role involves developing and executing sales and patron relationship-building strategies related to single tickets and subscriptions, handling space rentals, and other sales efforts. The Sales Manager is a key member of the Marketing Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Participate fully in the conception and execution of strategies, inbound and outbound sales campaigns, and offers designed to reach and exceed single ticket and subscription revenue goals
Process reservations in the ticketing system, update calendars, and maintain contact with scheduled groups throughout the booking process, including follow-up calls and emails. (Groups for student matinees are primarily the responsibility of the Connectivity Department)

Advertising & Community Relations:
Schedule and facilitate off-site group sales presentations and on-site tours
Cultivate new group business and foster relationships with potential patrons at community events, researching new opportunities for exposure

Financial Management:
Provide regular sales reports as required by the Director of Marketing or Controller, ensuring reports are accurate and distributed in a timely manner.
Draft and execute group sales and rental contracts, confirmation letters, reminders, invoices, and receipts to secure deposits and other payments on time,
Work with Director of Ticketing on maintaining and updating pricing structures for group sales
Create and maintain rental rates benchmarking with local organizations and event spaces

Rentals & Operational Support:
Keep track of rentals using internal database and keep Event Manager and Production staff apprised
Set up event spaces and staff events accordingly working with the Event Manager when needed
Assist the Patron Services Office with general ticket inquiries throughout the season via phone calls and email exchanges with patrons.
Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s Degree and 2 years of experience in sales and customer service, or any combination of education and experience that yields the required skills and abilities
Working knowledge of Box Office or Front of House operations preferred
Knowledge of ticketing systems preferred but not required
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft 365 suite, and database/calendaring experience is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work on the computer and talk/listen on the phone for long hours, interact with patrons, and work in close proximity to other coworkers.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., crouch, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, and work indoors and outdoors.
