The Sanitation Supervisor with be responsible for providing guidance and support to the operations Sanitation teams while implementing systems to improve and maintain food safety, quality, and sanitation compliance for the facility. This role will also oversee third party pest control and office cleaning services. In this role, you will be expected to actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Safety & Quality

Work with plant sanitation associates to ensure all records are completed, reviewed, and signed off on (i.e. chemical concentrations, CIP validations, pre-operational inspection, COP records, SSOPs, etc.)
Provide leadership and guidance with regards to the development and maintenance of a Master Sanitation Program
Support plant sanitation and third-party vendor sanitation crew in effective use of chemicals, COP/CIP cleaning processes, environmental sanitation, and sanitary design
Guide facility during special plant sanitation issues including microbiological and environmental control matters
Training and education of plant sanitation leaders, team associates, and contractors
Manage pest control operations and work with third party vendors to ensure activities, procedures, and record keeping are compliant
Conduct routine sanitation and pest control assessments to ensure the consistent application and execution of procedures and all related practices


Regulatory & Customer Compliance

Provide leadership and guidance (proactive and reactive) to Operations in relation to internal, second party, and third party audits in regulatory inspections
Ensure sanitation requirements are met or exceeded based on customer/contract packaging partner specifications
Support management to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and third-party audits are met
Support management in investigations of customer/consumer inquiries and complaints


Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement

Support projects (new lines, equipment, chemicals, etc.) by providing SME guidance as needed and by participating in the Food Safety & Quality Risk Assessment Program
Assist in new plant/line/equipment startup activities that will include: development and review of SSOPs, cleaning verification documents, and equipment passivization of new equipment
Lead new chemical qualifications and validate chemical savings activities
Work with third-party vendors and others to maximize technical expertise and optimize vendor products, information, and equipment
Research new cleaning technologies and techniques and coordinate trials
Review contracts and recommend contract changes

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree in a science-related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience
5+ years of experience of sanitation-related experience
2+ years of supervisory/management experience in a food/beverage production facility
Training or certifications: Hygienic/Sanitary Design, HACCP/HARPC, and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Experience with federal food or TTB standards


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to sit, bend, climb, lift, and duck under conveyors/equipment
Must be able to reach and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls as well as move up to 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to work with moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels
Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels
